Not my best work but I haven’t posted in such a long time and I hate to keep pages on hiatus .
This was made last year, the entire point of the dress was using at least 75% of the fabric on perfect bias. Still it seems I just can’t stay away form boning.
I took and original empire dress pattern and slightly modified the top since I didn’t want a sleeveless dress; then I bought an absurd amount of bias ribbons (different fabrics, colours and width) and weaved them over the corset.
The bottom are just several yards of various fabrics draped and painfully 1/8 of an inch baby hemmed.

I love how it is imperial waisted and not boring. Usually the dresses made with that cut have only a single fabric layer and, although pretty, are not very interesting. This is very beautiful. I love the color palette and also the many different layers of fabric. Wonderful job!
