noodle on bias by noodle-cup noodle on bias by noodle-cup
Not my best work but I havenít posted in such a long time and I hate to keep pages on hiatus .
This was made last year, the entire point of the dress was using at least 75% of the fabric on perfect bias. Still it seems I just canít stay away form boning.
I took and original empire dress pattern and slightly modified the top since I didnít want a sleeveless dress; then I bought an absurd amount of bias ribbons (different fabrics, colours and width) and weaved them over the corset.
The bottom are just several yards of various fabrics draped and painfully 1/8 of an inch baby hemmed.

I love how it is imperial waisted and not boring. Usually the dresses made with that cut have only a single fabric layer and, although pretty, are not very interesting. This is very beautiful. I love the color palette and also the many different layers of fabric. Wonderful job!

This is GORGEOUS. I'm curious, what type of fabric is it that you used? It drapes so beautifully.
